You’ll feel beautiful, regal, and confident - and you’ll have LOTS of fun here with us. We’ll create stunning images that showcase the beauty of your pregnancy. If you’re not naturally comfortable in front of the camera, no need to worry - you’ll be expertly and gently guided through your session every single step of the way.
Modern Maternity portrait sessions take place in our intown Atlanta studio M-F during the morning hours. VERY limited weekend sessions may sometimes be available. As our sessions are very popular, please reserve your session with us as far in advance as possible to guarantee our availability to you.
We strongly recommend scheduling between 26-32 weeks of pregnancy, or whenever you feel most comfortable and want to remember how your body looked at this stage, while keeping in mind that the longer you wait in pregnancy, the more physically challenging the session may be for you. Stretch marks and scars can be taken care of in post processing. Some clients prefer to leave these - the choice is entirely yours and your preferences will be discussed with you.
Clients bring their own clothing. Some examples of what clients have brought along are a black lacy bra and panty set, a suit set, non-maternity jeans, heels, the list goes on! We have a small collection of bodysuits and bodycon dresses available, as well as gorgeous draping fabrics. We’ll discuss your comfort level and vision for your images beforehand at your virtual or in person pre-session consultation and send you our detailed preparation guide with a list of what to bring with you so you won’t forget anything and don’t have to stress.

Illume Maternity is different than other studios in Atlanta. We are a safe space, and provide the highest level of exceptional service to each of our clients; from their first contact with us until product delivery at the conclusion of their portrait experience.
